John Jeavons, internationally known advocate for a sustainable agricultural method called Biontensive mini-farming, will join us at Noyo Food Forest’s Second Annual Harvest Feast on Thursday, October 10 at the Mendo Bistro. Mr. Jeavons, who farms near Willits, will be the first recipient of the “Local Food Hero Award.” He is the author of a best-selling book, How to Grow More Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts, Berries, Grains, and Other Crops Than You Ever Thought Possible On Less Land Than You Can Imagine, which has sold over 550,000 copies worldwide. John Jeavons has authored, co-authored, or edited over 30 publications based on his Biointensive approach. His resource-conserving method is currently being used in 141 countries and by a number of organizations such as Save the Children, Peace Corps, and UNICEF.
