CA Farm To School Program

Friday December 11th, 2015 our staff attended the Northern California Regional Gathering for Farm to School Network hosted by North Coast Opportunities.
This event was held at the Willits grange and featured some truly amazing farmers, gardeners, food service directors, and a mass of other folks who are dedicated to the health and wellness of ALL of our children.
Our lunch menu for the day was drawn from the Harvest of the Month Calendar which supports local farmers and gardeners JUST LIKE US!
HOTM allows the schools to purchase a different crop of locally grown produce to use in nutrition and gardening lessons within the school and to be featured in the cafeterias.
Here is a mouthwatering photo of just a single course of our delicious local lunch! Note the RED WALNUTS!!! Beautiful and appetizing.
