Soil Assessment Basics
Ever wonder what’s going on with your soil and what to do about it? Come learn where to start! This class will include how to do a soil texture test and a bulk density test at home, as well as how to take a soil sample to send to a lab and what to do with the results.

Sunday, February 10th   1-4pm
Soil Biology
This class will explore the dynamic role of microorganisms in the soil and how they affect plant growth. Get up close and personal with soil organisms during class as you learn to take an organism sample and explore real live organisms under the microscope. No previous experience necessary.

Instructor Rachel Britten has a degree in Agroecology and has been working on farms for the last ten years. She most recently managed a research and education mini farm for John Jeavons’ non-profit, Ecology Action. Rachel is able to make complex topics fun and accessible!
