Gardening is a tradition at Jug Handle Farm and Nature Center. But after some years of neglect Noyo Food Forest revived The Kitchen Garden and The Garden On The Slope in 2008.
The Kitchen Garden shares an enclosure with The Native Plant Nursery. It is a garden with old raised and tilled beds for vegetables with fruit trees, berries and small hoop house.
The Garden On The Slope is just below Jug Handle farmhouse.
Garden workdays run all year long, weather permitting. Garden volunteers include Jug Handle guests (the center has hostel-like accommodations in the farm house, cabins, and camping), visiting school groups, and local folk; babies, parents, young people and seniors.
